Psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and visits by telehealth or in your home. The fee for each is listed below.
What I do
An evaluation runs across two appointments: a parent-only visit first, then your child’s visit, which takes one to two hours. It includes separate interviews with you and with your child, and ample time to discuss the diagnostic picture and the treatment options, including the option of no medication.
I take a conservative, evidence-based approach to prescribing for children and teens. My goal is to use as little medication as possible for as short a period as possible. Where appropriate I am open to de-prescribing: the thoughtful, deliberate process of reducing or stopping medication that may no longer be helping, or that may be making a child’s emotional or behavioural difficulties worse.
I conduct evaluations and follow-up visits with children in their homes or by video. Seeing a child in their natural environment can be a rich source of information and gives context to the problems being treated. Virtual visits help when an established patient has an urgent need, when schedules leave little room for travel, or when a parent wants to take part from work.
In-home visits are available within thirty minutes of the business address at no additional charge. Further out, ask me at the consultation and I will tell you before anything is booked.

For medication management the hourly rate works out to roughly $300, and for counseling or therapy roughly $250. Treat both as rough estimates rather than a strict rate. Most services are billed using standardized medical codes, which gives you the best chance of maximizing any out-of-network reimbursement you are eligible for.
You will receive a full Good Faith Estimate, with every fee set out, before your first paid visit. Anything not listed on this page is covered there, and in the practice policies.
Insurance and payment
My practice is private-pay and is considered an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans. This model is what allows me to provide personalized, flexible care without insurance-mandated time restrictions. A one-to-two-hour evaluation is not something an insurer will fund.
I do not participate in any insurance network and I do not file claims on your behalf. If you ask, I will provide a statement with the billing codes and information your insurer needs so you can submit the claim yourself for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
To make that as easy as possible, I partner with Thrizer. You can use it to check your out-of-network benefits and see how much your plan may reimburse before you commit to anything.
Payment is due on the day of service. I ask that you keep a current credit card on file; you may also pay by cash, check, money order or card.
Your rights
Under the law, health care providers must give patients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. You will receive a detailed estimate in your intake paperwork through SimplePractice before your first appointment.
